Role Summary: The Operations FP&A supports the Operations FP&A Manager in assisting with accurate product costing, product manufacturing analysis, and inventory valuation. The key focus of this role is to support our global manufacturing footprint and supply chain manage their Departmental Costs and cost reduction initiatives. This a key developmental position on the corporate finance and analysis team the will provide visibility that could lead to leadership roles in Finance or Operations Flowserve. The position reports to the Operations FP&A Manger. Responsibilities & Requirements: Key Responsibilities: Participate in the month-end close process ensuring completeness, accuracy and timeliness of data, including cross validation with different sources of information; Assist in identifying, analyzing, validating and reporting fluctuations and variances of financial and non-financial information; Prepare and review key account reconciliations if necessary; Assist in preparing special financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends; Assist in understanding and reviewing current processes in an effort to eliminate waste and streamline tasks; Maintain the control environment to ensure compliance with SOX requirements, including but not limited to: obtaining supporting documentation; reviewing or obtaining (depending on the case) approval to transactions and activities; Helps to ensure compliance with current accounting practices, corporate policies and procedures and regulatory requirements; Assist with yearly budget process including preparing templates and reviewing the data for reasonableness. Assist in the implementation and improvement of standard cost processes globally Complete actual versus standard cost analysis related to cost of manufacturing Prepare financial analysis related to manufacturing costs, inventory, capital investment and benchmarking as needed for decision support Analyze overhead absorption associated with Inventory and cost of sales analysis enabling recommendations to improve capacity utilization and reduce cost Produce manufacturing reports that explain the why on variances to standard that lead to recommendations to improve productivity, increase capacity utilization and reduce cost of manufacture Assist in developing and documenting policies and procedures, including system requirements and internal controls. Represent Finance/Accounting on teams designed to improve operations, reduce costs, etc. Complete adhoc requests and other projects as directed the Director of FP&A Requirements Bachelor degree in accounting, business or finance; MBA/CMA/CPA certification a plus Extensive hands on ERP system experience 3+ years of accounting experience; cost accounting preferred Good analytical skills with a strong focus on accuracy and attention to detail Good communication skills and high confidence in stating professional opinions Strong grasp of GAAP accounting and general accounting concepts Strong Excel skills, especially advanced financial modeling and analytical techniques Ability to streamline and automate complex processes Active listening skills Proactive and detailed-oriented individual capable of monitoring the financial systems and controls and making the necessary changes to upgrade system, policies and procedures Preferred Experience / Skills: Preferred Experience / Skills: Experience in cost analysis, cost accounting and standard costing Experience at a large complex global manufacturing organization is a plus Experience with BPC/SAP/Oracle ERPs a plus Job Posting Category: Finance & Accounting Primary Posting Location: Irving, Texas US Job Advertising Title: Financial Analyst Employment Type: Full time Country: United States Auto req ID: 53562BR Flowserve is an equal opportunity employer and makes employment decisions without regard to race, gender, disability or protected veteran status.
