Opportunity
- Fixed Wing Pilot Instructor - PC12 (Home based) - We are
currently seeking a King Air PC12 Instructor
- Starting Wage $102,000 to -$112,000 -
- 5000 annual stipend added upon successful completion of Initial
Check Pilot Training
- 15,000 sign on bonus (after successful completion of
training/checkride) NO TRAINING CONTRACT!!
- 40,000 retention bonus (6 month wait period and this is a
3-year program)
- 5,000 relocation package (if relocation to Denton)
- Maintains a schedule as set forth by the company, typically 14
to 16 days a month

new hire instructor base salary, before Geo Modifier if any, or
their current base hourly rate converted to salary whichever is
higher . - JOB SUMMARY - The Pilot Instructor will conduct training
for Guardian Flight's fleet of Pilatus PC12 aircrafts. Training
will be conducted in the classroom, simulator and in-flight for
both initial and recurrent courses . - The instructor will ensure
new hire pilots are properly trained and competent with the
knowledge to conduct air medical flight operations in accordance
with the company Operations Manual, Operations Specifications,
Standard Operating Procedures manual, appropriate FARs, Airplane
Flight Manuals and any other company policies. The Instructor will
be responsible for confirming the ground training is completed and
all necessary documentation completed correctly. - Additionally,
after gaining experience in Guardian Flight operations, the Pilot
Instructor will conduct checkrides per FAR 135.293, .297 and .299.
- QUALIFICATIONS
- - A minimum of 2,500 hours of flight time, with 1000 hours PIC
airplane, 500 cross-country and 100 night. In addition, 100 hours
of actual or simulated instrument time, of which at least 75 hours
of that time was in actual flight.
- Must have 100 hours in the PC12 -
- Commercial, Instrument and Multi-Engine Land
- FAA Second Class Medical issued within the preceding twelve
calendar months
- Multi-Engine Commercial (ATP Preferred)
- CFI preferred
- Must have an unexpired/valid drivers license
- Instructing background and experience heavily weighted
- Familiarity with Garmin avionics required ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS/DUTIES -
- Oversees and manages classroom in the course of conducting
new-hire and recurrent pilot training.
- Plans classroom assignments and manages daily training
schedule.
- Conducts training activities in accordance with the
FAA-Approved Training Manual.
- Distributes classroom assignments and ensures compliance of
required exercises.
- Instructs on the proper use of all associated company
documentation, including aircraft manuals, load manifests, dispatch
risk assessments, operations manual, aeronautical charts, etc.
- Instructs in the proper techniques of loading/distributing
cargo, passengers and patients, including the determination that
weight and balance computations are within prescribed
limitations.
- Instructs in the proper techniques of pre-flight duties,
including the inspection of engine[s], fluid levels, airframe
condition, control surface integrity, avionics database currency,
personal equipment, ramp securing/mooring and aircraft logbook,
etc.
- Instructs on how to ensure cargo is properly secured,
provisions for passenger comfort are addressed and emergency
equipment such as life rafts, life vests (as required) are on
board.
- Instructs on how to determine optimal operation of the aircraft
at a favorable altitude, considering turbulence, hazardous weather,
oxygen requirements, passenger comfort, etc.
- Performs duties as simulator instructor for both initial and
recurrent training courses.
- For training in the aircraft, ensures proper coordination with
trainee pilot's performance of aircraft pre-flight inspection,
equipment loading, weight & balance computations and weather
briefing for the assigned flight.
- During flight operations, obtains briefing information
regarding purpose of the flight, weather, special operating
procedures, airport facilities, navigational aids and any specific
limitations.
- Instructs on the proper filing of FAA flight plans and
providing appropriate information to the company Communications
Center for the purpose of flight following.
- Instructs and promotes a positive team attitude with flight
crew members, medical clinicians, maintenance technicians and
communication specialists.
- Maintains ongoing knowledge of relevant aviation regulations,
aircraft operational/equipment changes and company policies.
- Instructs to ensure all required flight logs, records, and
maintenance forms are properly completed and submitted.
- Performs maintenance check flights and aircraft repositioning
flights between maintenance bases and operational remote
bases.
- Assists in the coordination, distribution and development of
pilot training materials, including PowerPoint classroom
presentations, training manuals, curriculum guides, homework
exercises and associated training management forms. - EEO
