Job Description:
Position Purpose: The Maintenance Controls Engineer is
responsible for maintenance, documentation, troubleshooting of all
PLC programs and Industrial controls in the plant. This position
will be a resource for other individuals in the Engineering group
in the area of PLC's and controls. Training of electrical personnel
in all aspects of PLC troubleshooting is required.Essential Job
Functions & Responsibilities:Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
Support
- Performs and assists in Preventive and Predictive Maintenance
functions and repairing of the food manufacturing equipment,
electrical controls, electrical equipment and functions in the
facility and other related duties.
- Executes electrical maintenance functions for the facility as
well as electrical PM's; to include updating all existing PM's and
generating new PM's per equipment as new equipment is installed or
upgraded; additionally, work order repairs and improvement project
work.
- Supports the CMMS system for work order generation and support
of production equipment.Maintenance and Production Support
- Supports production and maintenance in troubleshooting to
minimize downtime and maximize efficiency
- Analyze complex engineering problems and offer effective
solutions
- Develop and troubleshoot PLC, vision systems, and other
automated control systems
- Tests and troubleshoots industrial controls, drives, servos,
and a variety of VFDs
- Focuses on continuous improvements in existing plant software
and hardware related issues to minimize downtime on equipment
- Write robotic programs to ensure operational efficiencies of
operating equipment for production
- Interprets and communicates company policies to workers and
enforces all regulations and policies. Continually updates training
of maintenance technicians on all electrical equipment and/or
proceduresProject work
- Supports Senior Controls Engineer developing and creating
electrical specification for new equipment installation
- Plans, evaluates, organizes, and implements automation-related
capital projects and initiatives
- Supports Senior Controls Engineer to manage obsolescence plan
of electrical equipment to minimize risk to the business and
executes capital projects to mitigate themIndustry 4.0 Support &
IoT Platform
- Facilitates Industry 4.0 initiatives maintaining and adding
devices to the operations technology infrastructure
- Continuously observes areas for plant improvements and presents
opportunities for digitalization to Digital Operations Manager
- Supports Digital Operations Manager with Industry 4.0 projects
and project supervision tasks as neededQualifications &
Requirements:Experience:Required
- 3-4 years hands on experience designing, programming,
documenting, installing, debugging and maintaining PLC based
control systems.
- Experience with Siemens & Allen Bradley PLC systems.
- Drives experienceSkills & Knowledge:
- Hands on experience installing, debugging and maintaining PLC
based control systems.
- Effective troubleshooting experience.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills concerning PLC
functions and integrated controls equipment.
- Good written and oral communications skills.
- Computer literacy in MS Office and integrated work
order/inventory system. High level of PC familiarity.
- Ability to develop and implement process improvement
solutionsEducation:Required
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical EngineeringOther
