Job Description:
The Federal Bureau of Prisons (BOP) is seeking a dedicated
Registered Nurse to provide quality medical care to federal inmates
across our correctional facilities. This role is crucial in
ensuring the health and safety of inmates, offering an opportunity
to work in a dynamic and challenging environment while contributing
to public service. The position requires a compassionate
professional who can adapt to the unique demands of correctional
healthcare, facilitating a range of medical services from routine
screenings to emergency responses. Assess, plan, and implement
nursing care for inmates while adhering to institutional
guidelines. Document medical histories and monitor vital signs,
responding effectively to variations in inmate health. Administer
medications and treatments, and assist in rehabilitation as
prescribed by on-site physicians. Collaborate with correctional
staff to ensure the safety and well-being of all inmates. Maintain
strict compliance with security measures and confidentiality
protocols. Provide health education and support to inmates to
ensure awareness and compliance with treatment plans. Participate
in emergency medical response when needed. Strong clinical skills
in a medical/clinic setting Ability to make quick and accurate
assessments of patient conditions Exceptional interpersonal and
communication skills Proficiency in maintaining medical records and
writing reports Capacity to handle stress and react effectively to
emergency situations Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision
Insurance Life Insurance Current and unrestricted Registered Nurse
license BLS/CPR certification with the American Heart Association
or American Red Cross Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS)
certification preferred
