Ultrasound Tech Location: Waco, TX Agency: Cynet Health Pay: $2,426 per week Shift Information: Nights - 4 days x 10 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: 2/2/2026 About the Position Job Title: Multispecialty Sonographer Profession: Sonographer Specialty: Multispecialty Sonographer Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: NOC Hours per Shift: 10 Hours Experience: Minimum of 3 years License: RDMS (AB), RDMS (OB), RVT, BLS (AHA Only) Certifications: Required certifications as specified Description: The Multispecialty Sonographer performs basic to advanced ultrasound services and procedures for patients. These procedures may include abdominal, OB/GYN, cardiac, vascular, musculoskeletal, and small parts imaging. The position examines the patient's clinical history to identify the purpose of the examination. The sonographer frames the clinical questions the examination is intended to answer. The examination may be expanded as necessary to answer relevant clinical questions. Multiple specialty ultrasound procedures are performed utilizing various equipment and techniques. Accurate measurements required for interpretation are made to yield high-quality results. The sonographer identifies and defines abnormalities specific to the procedure. The scope of the examination may be extended appropriately, deviating from standard techniques as necessary. Other diagnostic test results are correlated with anatomy and function. Appropriate protection measures are utilized during procedures. The sonographer may assist physicians in procedure and operating rooms by performing ultrasound studies. These studies aid in complex procedures to decrease risk factors. Patients are prepared for procedures, and clinical history is obtained. The sonographer explains the purpose of the ultrasound examination to the patient. All inquiries from the patient are addressed. Imaging team members are expected to adhere to policies, procedures, and workflows. These workflows include PACS, EMR, image exchange systems, modality worklist integrity, and record management. Statistics are recorded, and daily maintenance of the ultrasound Lab and equipment is performed. All malfunctions are reported as appropriate. The sonographer acts as a resource to team members and physicians regarding equipment, techniques, and procedures. Quality processes and adherence to protocols are ensured through collaboration with ultrasound team members. Unit and organization accreditation activities are assisted with as delegated. Protocols are implemented as new technology evolves. Implementation and adherence to system standards are ensured. Quality checks are performed following manufacturer's recommendations, and equipment is troubleshot as needed. Familiarity with approved clinical protocols for each type of ultrasound examination is required. Qualifications and requirements for two specialties must be met, including OB/GYN and another specified specialty. Knowledge and ability to apply complex sonographic principles, instrumentation, and techniques are necessary. Knowledge of relevant anatomy and physiology for each specialty must be maintained. Proper infection control, including precautionary procedures, must be understood. Knowledge of relevant laws regarding patient confidentiality and privacy is required. Effective communication with healthcare providers, including other sonographers, physicians, and nurses, is essential. Skills in utilizing computers and medical equipment are necessary. The ability to serve as a trainer and provide quality training to new team members and on new services is required. Call may be required if necessary.
