Competency in wound care and tracheostomy management Description:
The position requires a registered nurse with a minimum of 2 years
of experience in the medical/surgical or orthopedic field. The
nurse will work night shifts, providing care for a patient ratio of
1:6. The unit has a total of 36 beds dedicated to orthopedic
patients. The candidate must be skilled in various nursing
procedures, including blood product administration, central line
draws, and peripheral line management. Experience with colostomy
care, feeding tube management, and pre/post hemodialysis management
is essential. Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and the use of
high-flow nasal cannula is required. Ideal candidates should have
experience in critical care situations, including managing renal
failure patients. The role involves floating to units of equal or
lesser acuity as required. Weekend shifts are expected to be half
of the scheduled shifts. The registered nurse must be adept at
delivering comprehensive patient care, collaborating with an
interdisciplinary team. Effective communication skills and the
ability to work well under pressure are crucial for this position.
