Job Description - Director of Player Personnel (HR title:
Athletics Recruiter II) (ATH00000410)Position Overview:The Director
of Player Personnel leads all player identification and evaluation
efforts for their side of the ball, overseeing film analysis,
background checks, academic reviews, and transfer portal scouting.
This role acts as the Transfer Portal Liaison and collaborates
closely with other staff to develop a unified recruiting
strategy.Essential Functions:
- Lead evaluation of high school, college, and transfer
prospects.
- Conduct evaluations using film, transcripts, background
reports, and character assessments.
- Manage the recruiting board and organize evaluation
duties.
- Serve as the Transfer Portal Liaison, monitoring portal
targets.
- Maintain detailed prospect profiles and rankings.
- Coordinate recruiting travel plans and provide insights to
coaches.
- Support recruiting events and visits.
- Regular evening and weekend work is required, along with
regional travel to evaluate prospects and attend
games.Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Sports Management, Education, or related
field.
- Minimum of three years in football recruiting, evaluation, or
personnel roles.
- Strong background in offensive or defensive football and
positional evaluation preferred.
- Experience with film evaluation, academic records, and
background checks desired.Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication
skills.
- Strong problem-solving, organizational, and time management
skills with attention to detail.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; experience with recruiting
databases (e.g., ARMS, Hudl).
- Knowledge of NCAA rules and Transfer Portal regulations; NCAA
recruiting certification preferred.Physical and Environmental
