Thrive Pet Healthcare is -hiring an experienced Veterinary Technician to work Urgent Care in our Mesquite location. -

We are excited to provide urgent care needs and services with expanded hours to treat for a range of illnesses and non-life threating situations. Our goal is to relieve pressure from our local and busy ER hospitals, help our awesome referring veterinary community, and provide exceptional service to our community of pet parents. This position will make a positive impact on our patients, clients and colleague's lives! -The Urgent Care shift hours are 12pm - 10pm, 4 nights per week, rotating weekends (open 7 days a week).What qualifies you to be a part of our team?
  • At minimum, 2 years of direct patient care in an emergency and/or critical care/triage experience (the more, the better!)
  • CVT/LVT/RVT (preferred, but not required)
    • Outstanding communication skills
    • Proficient venipuncture, IV-catheter, and injection administration skills
    • Full knowledge to wound care & bandage change
    • Full knowledge to set-up & position patients for digital radiographs/ultrasound
    • Appropriate collection, set-up, and interpretation of in-house laboratory & cytology tests
    • Proficient ability to monitor anesthesia & assist the Veterinarian in surgical procedures
